The Writing Life-- a Life of Words
My main Calling in life-- as well as part of my "trade"-- is writing. I have been writing since I was about six or seven years old. At some point, my mother brought home a stack of blank exercise books, in the hope that her son would learn to "draw outside the lines." Indeed, I did fill those books very quickly, but I filled them with words, rather than drawings. I wove colorful tales of my teddy bear going to the moon, being lost in an endless forest, and time travel.
In retrospect, I feel quite sure that my being an HSP who spent a lot of time in "quiet contemplation" contributed to the lively imagination reflected in my writing. For me, that is one of the great positives of the HSP trait.
Over the years, my writing has taken many forms. The articles, commentaries and other forms of writing listed below is an esoteric mix of fiction and non-fiction. Some have been published, in print format, or on the web; some are "formal" in nature, others are little more than favorite journal entries. There are opinion pieces, short stories, historical accounts, an assortment of non-fiction with a heavy emphasis on psychology and self-inquiry, life commentaries and much else. Whereas this page is an integral part of the web site, I also use it as a "reference;" a sort of "response" to people who ask "So, what do you write?"
These writings represent only a tiny fraction of my work and musings. I hope you enjoy what you find here. Please feel free to send me an email to share your thoughts, comments, criticisms or compliments!
